Sean.
For a neutral it must have been exciting. It infuriated me that it could go to penalties after being 3-0 up. I was actually laughing sarcastically and almost wishing Coventry won. That's how bad I felt. |

Pat,if the Coventry goal had stood, there wouldn't have been penos, and the Coventry player kicking his penalty over the bar sealed their fate...

Dunno if you saw it Pat, a great match. Now, maybe it was Ten Hags tactics, but City weren't really themselves, especially in the first half. But having said that, Man U were really super all match. A well-deserved win ...
... but will Ten Hag be there next season??? 🤔

Glad Manu won it Pat. I dont like to see one team win more than one trophy and good to see the honours shared. As Gerry says, the big question is Ten Haggs future now.

... but will Ten Hag be there next season??? 🤔 [/QUOTEHi Gerry. Saw the game in the Irish pub here. I had a good feeling all dsy that United would win so we went out to see the game. KO was 10pm here and met up with another man whose Manchester born and whom I've got to know over the last few years. He also loves traveling so we share travel tips etc. Fabulous win that had me jumping for joy. I was on Sprite for the night as I can't drink alcohol at the moment due recent dental surgery. It didn't affect my voice though 😂😂. I so hope Ten Hag is kept on. He deserves it and as he says himself we're in a transitional project and our season has been plagued by injuries. Plus he came into the club that's in tatters, underfunded from that shower of owners the Glazers, having to panic buy through lack of funds and inheriting a squad that had too many wasters in it. A clear out of deadwood has already begun, young players are coming through from the academy and with a few good signings during the summer transfer window I reckon we could be a force next season. It makes no sense to change the manager now. We've being doing that since Fdrguson retired without much success. Edited by Biker Pat - 26-May-2024 at 00:41 |

Manchester United are in serious disarray following the Spurs defeat.
Dreadful start to the season and despite all the new arrivals things don't see any better than last season. Not sure where the root cause lies. Manager, players, tactics, training but I now approach every game with dread. Currently we're way off the standard of the top teams and look more like relegation fodder than title challengers. Maybe things will turn around but it better happen fast 🙏🙏🙏 |

True Pat. It's a lack of confidence at root I think, plus the players don't seem to be used to one another or something- lot of misplaced passes, lot of big gaps on the field, each thinking someone else is going to cover etc. Hopefully with time they'll be more assured in their roles and positions - or something!

So it's away to Porto tonight and then away to Villa on Sunday.
If the results of these two games are disastrous I kinda expect a serious shake up at United next week. |

Just lost a 2-0 lead against Porto. Now 2-2.l at half time.
Typical United can't keep a lead. Eriksen and Casemiro in midfield. Don't have the legs to fill this role anymore. Best used from the bench. Let's see what happens second half. |

Blew it again. 2-0 up, then 2-3 down and scrape a 3-3 draw at the death.
I can't count the number of times United have conceded 3 goals in games especially in Europe. Dreadful stuff altogether. Something definitely wrong in the club. |

Pat, I agree something wrong at club level. There have been successive managers now post Ferguson who for various reasons have not worked out. Ten Hagg as the latest has turned into a farce and I can't really blame him for it. Yes he is to blame at some level for the team performance, but the club in my view undermined his authority as a manager when they actively looked to recruit another during the summer - only to discover what they were looking for wasn't available and so rewarded Ten Hagg with a new contract. Madness! Ten Hagg became a lame duck in the players eyes and are clearly not playing for him as the dressing room knows he is not the preferred choice. So the club has caused this and it seems only a matter of time before a change is made. Beware the international break.... There are other factors at club level also and I know Jim Radcliffe is trying to address those things- recruitment is a big one (including a manager). They need to start over on a number of levels which will all take time.

As an Arsenal fan I have to say its been a good start to the season despite tricky start - our first 3 away games were Villa, Spurs & Man City which we got 7 points from. We were missing key players due to injury (Odegard, Mereno, White) and suspension (Rice, Trossard). I am impressed with the new signings - Califouri, Raya, Timber (after a year out). The team is really progressing under Arteta and while I can't say if we can win the league this year, we should be close again. City are a hard act to topple and it is only early Oct but so far so good.

Agree with your summary on the state of play at United. And certainly agree that Arsenal are now a force to be reckoned with. Arteta has put a good squad together and there's a toughness about Arsenal that hasn't been there for a while. On current for I reckon Arsenal will definitely be in the shake up for the Premiership this year which is not something I can sadly say about United at the moment. |

Happy with a win at last but still we're really still way off the pace and each game's result is still so unpredictable.

West Ham 2 Manchester United 1
Another shocking result. Didn't see the game but apparently United should had so many chances to won this game in the first half. Don't like seeing managers sacked but sorry EtH your time is up. We're going backwards as a club. Most United fans like me are totally baffled by your tactics, team selections, substitute decisions, faith in the wrong players, slow boring build ups, lack of goal scoring, and a porous midfield of aged players even though we have younger options. It can't go on. It's f**king embarrassing. 😡😡😡

Hard to disagree Pat. Didn't see the match either but Man U should never - never - be losing to West Ham.at home. With all due respects to West Ham...
