Don't follow the soccer much but I agree that the standared of refereeing is dire.

There is no way that Chelsea should have got that penalty

How good is Casey Stoner? He'll have it all wrapped up in no time.

Yes Mel, I am devestated. The refereeing over the week-end was atrocious and Rob Styles is the worst of the lot. Lampaer should have been sent off for trying break Alonso's leg again.

And to make matters worse Stoner won the Brno Moto GP. The Aussies are winning again

Welcome to the site Mango.

I´m one of those oddballs who has no interest in football whatsoever, however that said, Ireland are playing Denmark on Wednesday and I have a bet on in work. So good luck Ireland. Please win so that I can hold my head up high in work on Thursday.(And make a few bob as well).

Dear oh dear Pat, 2 points dropped at home to the mighty Reading!!?

Have to say, it does drive me mad though when teams come to Anfield, Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge or Emirates only to defend and nick a point.  Its a pain to watch but I suppose they cant really go out trying to out-play the BIG 4.  Thought Brum were unlucky vs Chelsea and they really had a good go!!

By the way, anyone see Gerrards Free Kick vs Villa on Saturday.  Absolute screamer!!!

Pat, sorry to see that Rooney is out for a bit now.  Dont like seeing players (from any team) getting them 'long term' injuries.

C'mon the Pool!!!

Thanks Bruns.

Poor start to the season and now Rooney and Ronaldo missing for todays derby.

If we lose to the Iceman (Sven) I'll go bananas.

Welcome Mango! glad you've found the site.

not into footie myself (that's me in the bad books here now!)
Just back from watching a game though, and was shocked by the violence and fighting - and that was the under 8's practice in Maypark!!!
Great fun though.

Good result Joan, well done the Gunners.   Liverpool managed a 1-0 away win so hopefully one foot in the Group stages for us as well.

Whats happening to Man United, Pat, another draw (against Portsmouth no less) and Ronaldo straight Red card - dear oh dear!!

Hey guys was talking to my brother-in-law this morning, he works in Ticketmaster and he told me that they will have no tickets for the Dubs v Kerry match at all. All the tickets are going to the club houses so better start sweet talking all GAA members out there.

Yeh Whipper I know what u mean I just really enjoyed this match probably for lots of different reasons

really thought Monaghan where going to do it yesterday how sick must they be feeling felt they where well up for it leading nearly the whole game to have Kerry nick it in the end

Cant get too excited about the premiership until the championship is over that been said three points for us yesterday and none for Tottenham on saturday Donal not a bad start to the season

And yes Mel had just made it to HBs on saturday to see Gerrards free kick and it was a screamer.
