Just picked up the last book of "The First Law" trilogy by Joe Abercrombie.  Would recommend these books for those who like Gemmell or, I suppose, fantasy books in general.  A good, gritty, read.  Lots of subtle, dry, humour as well.  Best books I have read in ages.

Book 1: The Blade Itself

Book 2: Before they are hanged

Book 3: (just released) Last argument of Kings.

Has anybody read Cathy Kelly's new book yet?

I like her books. Easy to read and lots of memories come back when she mentions certains places and shops I've frequented.

Rose Coloured Thistle

Author:  Lerato Mokone

Leroto gives a true and chilling insight to her main characters. Lillos life, i.e. a black woman married to a white man.  Based in the township of Lesotho - it is a wonderful book, beautifully written with deep insight and genuine feeling.

No need to sell this book - it is one you do not want to put down, apart from a great read, it is written by Lerato Mokone-Muller  -  Brians wife.  Would highly recommend it as a must buy for your shopping list (thinking about gifts or Christmas pressys).  It is available on

Amazom.com    or

www.publishamerica.com/shoppingshopsearch.asp

Well done Leroto - move over Meave Binchy.
