I really like it Pat. The songs are in a similar vein to his earlier solo albums, and obviously the Beatles elements are there as well. Some very strong tracks. I've played it a couple of times in the last little while, will certainly be listening again. It did nothing at all for Annette mind you, but there ya go - can't please all the people all of the time.

And, talking about ageing, just about every single sound on the album - all the instruments etc - done by McCartney himself - an 87-year old man. Not bad for an old boy!

I like that. Interesting song title πππ. Btw, he's 78 not 87 ππ but nonetheless a credit to him to still be making records. πππ |

I knew I had the Jason Isbell album name wrong - it is Southeastern. Worth a listen anyways.

Do you know Pat, the "Dead" are a band that completely passed me by - at the time and since. It's weird I know. Will start listening to their stuff and see what I think...was Volunteers an album of theirs, or was that Jefferson Airplane. Anyway, will get on it soon...
By the way ... Fried banana? ... hmmmmm |

What did one Grateful Dead fan say to the other Grateful Dead fan after their drugs wore off?
"Man, this music really sucks" old joke

Lol Pogue ππ.
Gerry Volunteers is indeed a Jefferson Airplane album. Re The Grateful Dead. Wouldn't like every album but the ones I have are super. So much Dead music available on the internet, especially their live shows, as they allowed people record no problem. So bootlegs abound. The fried bananas. They're a special small banana used here for frying. Absolutely delicious. |

@Gerry - re the question on the Steven Wilson - it's different to his normal stuff but I like it. Wasn't sure on a first play but it grew on me after a second listen.

I have a cousin here in the US who follows the DeadHeads around during the summer. Too cheap to purchase a ticket to get into the shows but hangs around for the weekend just to pick up crazy chicks (his words-not mine).
