Thanks Killian.

Two excellent pieces on Cecil and the Grove. 👏👏👏
May be going to hell in a bucket but at least I'm enjoying the ride.

Thanks for posting that KillianThumbs Up

The one thing that separates Cecil from other legends is the fact he became one without any promotion from media or hype. If anyone ever asked you to explain Cecil or The Grove you could only say –“Ah, you had to be there.”

Cecil has left behind a Grove family that no other disc jockey has ever achieved.

We're part of that family and will remain so.

May be going to hell in a bucket but at least I'm enjoying the ride.

Going back to the reunions from 2006, non-grove people who know me, used to be slightly confused why I was choosing to go to these "reunions" after all these years, but, as Pogue says, "you had to have been there".  I think, with Cecil's passing, and all the glowing tributes being paid to him on media, whether in print or on radio or social media, they do get it now.

I really hope Andy can do at least one big "wake" (as he called it on radio recently) for Cecil.  It's going to have to be a bloody big venue. :)

I was thinking of a more rural setting, about 55 miles south of Dublin. We could hold it outdoors in someone's back garden and call it "Grovestock"
