    Posted: 30-June-2011 at 14:32

 Hi all,

Since it's the silly season I thought I would start a new Thread.

One of my favorite was a scene from Apocalypse Now(1979)

Smell that? You smell that?
Lance: What?
Kilgore: Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that.
[kneels]
Kilgore: I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like
[sniffing, pondering]
Kilgore: victory. Someday this war's gonna end...

Class Thread young Gerard !

Several favourites but the Russian Roulette scene in The Deerhunter in the Prison Camp is one of my favourites.

From De Niro encouraging a petrified John Savage to pull the trigger to his insisting that the Vietnamese commander put extra bullets in the gun before he goes in against Christopher Walken..........

Love it.

The diner scene from Pulp Fiction with Tim Roth and Samuel L Jackson.......( and the scene with Ving Rhames and Bruce Willis but probable best not to mention that   ), the scene in The Godfather where Enzo the baker stands outside the hospital pretending he has a gun,the " Funny..........how am I funny " scene with Joe Pesci in Goodfellas............

Could go on forever with this topic.

And I just remembered some other favourite scenes that involve Joe Pesci

The desert scene from the much under-rated Casino.

And the biological clock scene from My Cousin Vinnie

Don't know if anybody remembers Hannie Caulder( 1971)

(Rachael Welch) Hannie enlists the aid of bounty hunter Tom Price to teach her how to be a gunfighter so she can hunt down the 3 men who killed her husband and raped her.

She kills one of the  Clemen Brothers( Jack Elam he's the guy with the 2 blue eyes,,, one blew here and one blew there

Anyway they are standing over his grave and one them says, say a few prayers for Frank...................

I stole a Bible, Emmett. Do you want to read over Frank?
Emmett Clements: You know damn right well I can't read! The hell with him anyway!
Rufus Clements: You shouldn't have done that, Emmett. You're gonna get God mad at us and he's liable to...
Emmett Clements: Shut your damn mouth!
Rufus Clements: Well, I want to say something over Frank!
Emmett Clements: Well, say it and get it the hell over with!
Rufus Clements: All right... Frank... you're dead!

Classic

By the way the post and clips are brill Lads, love UAs clips

Every scene from the Life of Brian, but particularly "Romanus eunt domus?" bit and the writing it out hundreds of times - I'm just laughing aloud all on my own  in the kitchen thinking as I type. Funny funny funny

Or the stuttering and non pronunciation of r's. I watched that film years ago with three pals - one who had a stutter and dodgy r's, the other who had an awful lisp. Didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

Not a huge movie/fillum fan, but that is pure genius - "How shall we be individuals", "Are there any women here?", "The People's front of Judea? Splitters", "what, other than.....have the Romas ever done for us" and on and on and on

I'm searching for that cash I should have saved for the crash

The scene in Apocalypse Now with Marlon Brando talking in
the shadows. I always liked that scene. Scary as hell.
