Ok.
Who can tell me the tracks and artists featured in the Grove documentary. It started with "The End" by the Doors. Free pint at Grove reunion to the first person to give the complete list correctly

Clues. I think Jumping Jack Flash by the Stones was in there and a song called Good Time Coming by Bitch. So we should now be able to get the definitive list. |

Great idea again Pat, I have just watched the documentary. I *THINK* I have all bar the thrash-metal one played when Ray Doyle comes on: Here's my take: Intro: More than a feeling - Boston The End - The Doors Whole lotta Love - Led Zeppelin Shes not there - Santana Positively 4th Street - Bob Dylan Children of the Revolution - T Rex Dust my Broom - Elmore James Jumping Jack Flash - Rolling Stones The Pusher - Steppenwolf Good time coming - Bitch White shade of pale - Procul Harum Changes - David Bowie Wish you were here - Pink Floyd Ramble On - Led Zeppelin All right now - Free Babe I'm gonna leave you - Led Zeppelin Black Betty - Ram Jam Smoke on the Water - Deep Purple Boys are back in Town - Thin Lizzy Alternative Ulster - Stiff Little Fingers She sells sanctuary - The Cult Dont know the next one, Slayer maybe....dunno Epic - Faith No More Back in Black - AC/DC Break on Through - The Doors Boys Dont Cry - The Cure Ace of Spades - Motorhead Lola - The Kinks All out of love - Air Supply (dont remember him playing that!) Welcome to the Jungle - Guns n' Roses Just cant get enough - Depeche Mode Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin Layla - Derek and the Dominoes Since you been gone - Rainbow Lay lady Lay - Bob Dylan Teenage Kicks - The Undertones More than a feeling (closing credits). Anyone know the metal track in the middle??

Agreed. That's why I ran this thread. To bring the song list to peoples attention. Like any programme our eyes are on the screen but in the background the soundtrack sometimes gets lost. Serious credit to the Producer Edited by Biker Pat |

In the making of the documentary we discussed the song appropriate to my part driving the bike out of the shed. Originally "Born To Be Wild" was mentioned but fair play to Joe (Director) he put in The Pusher by the same band Steppenwolf, which was my prefered choice. A great song, full of meaning By the way I don't do drugs in my petrol tank |

Pat, I was surprised they didnt use the "Born to be Wild" track - kinda going against the grain there but "The Pusher" is a fabulous track too, have to agree!!

Mel, If you look at the start of Easy Rider there's a scene where they run the camera up the forks of the chopper to the sound of "The Pusher". Seeing that scene for the first time, way back in '71, just blew me away and with the rest of the movie changed the course of my life in a way, I just wanted a motorbike and the whole freedom associated with riding a motorbike. Have'nt changed since. That's why "The Pusher" was used. I think to better effect as well for the shot in the doc. |
