Folks,

I have ended up with 2 spare tickets (standing) for the Thin Lizzy gig at the Olympia tonight.

Even without Philo they have a super line-up (Brian Downey, Scott Gorham, Darren Wharton, Marco Mendoza, Viv Campbell, and Ricky Warwick)

Face value is €33-60 each but I am happy to sell them to fellow grovers for €25 each (rather than sell them to touts outside).

If anybody is interested send me a private message including mobile number.

I always get 2 tickets for a gig and worry about who will accompany me later. Then I forget !

Excellent gig. They are playing more gigs in Ireland in the summer and I would recommend the show. The set list highlighted the great body of music Lizzy produced and it is great that audiences can hear it live.

This was the third time I have seen them in recent years and the spectre of Philo gets a little less every time I see them, though they do pay homage to him in the show. They are excellent musicians in their own right and some of them have every right to play the tunes they helped to compose.

Downey was solid and Gorham was excellent as usual. Wharton's keyboards tended to be drowned out. Marco Mendoza was as ever supercool on base. I was very impressed with the 2 Belfast boys - Viv Campbell on guitar (took all the difficult solos) and Ricky Warwick on vocals (though he sometimes played a third guitar as well which was unneccessary).

Sounds like a good Gig Tommy, I was tempted but I was trying to imagine Thin Lizzy without Phil and to be honest I couldn't get my head around it.But as you say the spectre of Philo gets a little less every time you see them

The last time I saw them was in the Stadium back in the 70s when they were releasing the Jonny the fox album.Thats my last abiding memory of them

But you seemed to have had enjoyed the music.I will go to the next Gig and see for myself
