Due to doubts expressed about the validity of the first poll due to possible multiple voting, we will do it all over again.

I refuse to vote until my rights as a NCD'er  is recognized and we get equal voting rights

Won't be able to make this, Rainey J, as I'll be down in Monasterevin at my brothers house.  Good luck!

Looks like Harrys on Dec 4th is the winner by a narrow margin but that clearly doesn't suit a significant number of people who would prefer town on Dec 3rd.

There are sufficient numbers to do both - with people going on the night that suits them best, while some people may choose to go to both nights.

What do people think about this idea?

I think this is a great idea Tommy - I posted along these lines last night in the main Christmas get-together thread.  It allows for people to go to the venue/night that suits them best.  If we opted for just the one night, a large group of people would miss out on a nite out altogether.  With this 'solution' people could still go both nights if that's what they want to do and/or have the stamina for it.  We'll be going around in circles if we keep on voting and voting.

Edit: I think it might be an idea to declare the "deadline" for votes ended.

Feck it - people are voting more than one again! I haven't got a clue what the real split of votes is. I can't make the 4th in harrys which seems to suit most so I shall go to town Friday 3rd dec and hope somebody else turns up!

Polls can be easily "fiddled" with... By deleting cookies/history or wait a few days the option to vote reappears or log on to another PC... Never too advantage of this myself... POLLS DON'T WORK

I think the two night plan is a bad idea IMO....

The problem is though, Peter, that if you can't make a particular night (if just one night is chosen), you're missing out altogether.  I thought the 2 nights option would enable everyone to get out on the night of their choosing (or both nights, if that suits them).  We don't seem to able to reach a consensus on just the one date/venue.

I think I can make either night and venue, even if it is Friday,I can fly down (or up) after Horslips-maybe drag a few along.

Seems there is a split decision so far-funny how no-one wants Harrys on the 3rd...

I'd have loved to have made it to this Rainey.
Unfortunately my daughter came down with a chest
infection and hubby was working today meaning I was
confined to barracks.

Next time maybe.

I kinda thought we had agreed 4th December in HBs? See the
"pre Christmas reunion" thread...

Edit: The thread is in the "off topic" forum.

Edit 2: The "pre Christmas reunion" thread was moved into the Grove Reunions thread alongside this one, a day or so ago, just a day or so ago.

Hi guys
I don't think I can make it to either venue on the 4th as I've had my market slot moved back to the 5th and I'll be setting up the night before ie 4th. It takes about four hours 7 to 11ish & I'm usually cabbaged afterward & then I have the market the following morning.
Are we not doing the TWO nights then? I thought that that was a good idea for situations such as this

Jen
the next Ferocious Mingle is the 5th at The Co-op....but I'm hoping to secure a venue in town to hold the market there also on the 12th and then possibly every Sun in the new year. I'll let you know :)Hope your daughter is feeling better now.

It does seem like the majority vote, doesn't it? It's just a pity when not all the regulars can make it-but thenyou'll never please all of th people all of the time in all of the pubs...

It's straight after Horslips so I'll leg it back for last knockings...
