Hiya all, you grove people might find this a tad cheeky. You see I've never been to the grove, but hang on let me explain.
I was trawling you tube tonight, for music from the 60's, when I remembered a great tune played by Cecil Nolan who was double jobbing in the "flamingo club", in O'Connell st.
The song Is by the easybeats, an aussie group, and its called "hello how are you". The tune was played regularly by Cecil at the flamingo.
Heres a link to the it on you tube.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wC65FcSFfMY - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wC65FcSFfMY
However, after finding it and listening I just had to find out if Cecil is still around, and the search directed me to your site.
So here I am, having bought a ticket to your re-union june 6th and hoping to meet Cecil.
As they say, thanks for listening.
Ps, grannysboy just means I was a devout fan of granneys intentions.

You're very welcome to the forum and to the Grove reunion.
Always a great night.
I'm sure Cecil will be glad to hear of your fond memories of him.
You can catch Cecil at Austin's newstand on the corner of O'Connell St and Abbey St. He's often there if you happen to be passing.

No fraid not, a ballyfermot lad I was. thats why we went to the flamingo in o'connell st. and not the grove, we could'nt afford the fare for 2 buses. If we had gone to the grove, we would have had to leave way too early just to get home.
Though if I remember right, there were a few northsider gals from raheny and donnycarney who were regulars at the flamingo.
Has anyone listened to the easybeats song "I provided a link to in my first post"
just curious to see if cecil was playing it at his other gigs.

Believe it or not GB. Cecil had totally different sets for The Flamingo and
The Grove. I was a regular at both. At the Flamingo he tried to be cool, but
at The Grove he really was cool. I'm not sure the crosstown crowd would
have accepted what happened at the Grove to be honest.

Anyone know whats happened, grannysboy here under a new name.
I tried to login tonight, but my title or password was not accepted.
I then entered my email address to receive a new password, only to be told, it wasnt on record., despite the fact I received several emails advising when there was a reply to my original post.
They didnt think they'd get rid of me that easily, now I'm back as son of cecil, so there.

Were CAPS on perhaps?
Anyway you're back and I'm sure Killian Bannon, who oversees the website can set you back to your original username.
