What do we think?

Neptune seems obvious choice-always good to mingle around and good jukebox. Would have to be a Friday or Saturday night though.

OR somewhere in NCD&B? Swords as previously mentioned? Or even Smyths again-nice little snug to ourselves?

Get thunking...

Smyths would be nice - might be a bit busier on a Friday/Saturday though.

Hi guys, like the idea of another get together and obviously it's the will of the majority that will hold sway................

But if i could just say this.

Coming up to Christmas, what with work parties, family stuff, all the mad preparations and other social events I would imagine that it's going to be really difficult to get a night that suits a decent number of people. After Christmas however, say weekend of 12/13 January, a night out might be just what people need having spent the previous two weeks recovering from the excesses of the festive season.

PS I also think that Carol will be around that weekend, in between her various travels and stuff.

So, in a nutshell, while I would prefer the thought of a pre Christmas get together, perhaps a early January migh be more practical.

Hi all..

I tend to agree with you Rolo. I will be back from NY on the 11th of January and leave to go back to Perth on the 18th so could arrange to go for drinks on the 12th or 13th.

Posted By: finno
Date Posted: 28-November-2007 at 08:34
I think Rolo's suggestion is a good one (is this a first?). and has the added advantage of allowing the Perth representative to attend.

I think lets have a few drinkies both before and after Christmas Problem sorted!!!
and I think Smyths would be the ideal spot central for everyone and we could phone up Smyths before hand and ask them to corner of the snug for us ??

whilst all in favour of pre Christmas drinks, the chances of my availability will increase significantly post christmas. Or at least I hope it will

so that's everyone casting their votes for pre Christmas

My suggestion is to head out to Swords and catch a groovy little group called Room for One More. Believe the women just go mad for the guitarist

Why not - it's time to hit NCD again, it's not that far away from us city council types and it's music and fun - the thing that brought us all together in the first place?

I'd love to do the after Christmas night out in January but I suspect I'll ber busy that weekend. My birthday's the 9th and Ciara's is on the 13th so I'll probably be out for mine or running around organising her's.

My vote goes to before Christmas in Smyth's but let's see what way the herd moves.

I have to agree with Rolo....After the christmas would suit me and Robbie better. I know we are busy most weekends between now and Christmas.
I would also like to say that The Neptune would suit us better than Smyths cos it's a long journey from Clonsilla to Malahide and we'd have to drive cos no bus service connects both. But we will go with the majority.......

Re Venue - Would be very happy to go anywhere once I can share a taxi home.

Have to agree with Rolo on this one weekends between now and christmas are pretty much out for me could poss do weekday but will wait  and see what date is decided.

Regarding venue I'm with Bluebell malahide is either a drive or very expensive taxi from blanach .

Town as was seen from the button factory seemed to suit everyone

thats my two pennyworth anyway

Designated drivers I have done it a few times myself..

At moment Bluebell HD and Blondie probably can't make it before Xmas with weekend commitments. <--- I don't mean that in a bad way so don't take offense.
What we could do if we having a get together before Christmas we could have it in Smyths. After Christmas when the Blanch Trio can make it we have something in the Nep ??.. Everyone is happy then and some of us getting two nights on the Razzzie plus the reunion... Just a suggestion

OK so, colours to the mast here.

For anyone that can do it, I suggest Saturday 12th January to coincide with Carol's return from NY.

Hopefully we will get as good a show as we did for Les and Mary's night.

If something is arranged pre Crimbo I'll do me best but at this stage with the diary filling up I reckon it will be difficult.

I dont know BB has a kind of ring to it like the Birmingham Six or the Guildford Four !!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

And yes Peter have heard of "designated drivers " but being one when going to xmas drinks not for me

Will stick Saturday the 12th in diary Rolo as soon as I have a 2008 one

I'm still missing the reunion, but I'll do my best to make up for it the other nights. And what I love about the pub nights is you get more chance to chat which is a bit hard sometimes at the reunions. (If I keep talkin' I might even convince myself I won't be missing out on the 27th).

Well, we are all having a good time here in Smyths. T-shirts have been modelled with photos to follow. Gary, fair dues to you for a great job done.

As for the dentist....you think he'd know that then in Malahide it's spelled S-M-Y-T-H-S

Hi Guys....wish I could've been there for the rest of the night. The T-shirts turned out great...are we all wearing them at the Reunion?

Proceeded on to the golf  club with the usual turkey and ham dinner . Couldn't believe it when the band played Sweet home Alabama! Made me think of Smyths.

I hope Kay and Jackie made it to Siam (VIA Gibneys). Hopefully the crutches didnt spoil your night too much, Jackie.

Sorry to have missed the rest of the gang.  Good luck with the travels, Dayo and Lorraine. The t-shirts will go down a treat, no doubt.

Big thanks again ,Gary, from a satisfied customer!   GG

Evening....

Guinness was good last night in there...too good. Kept bloody drinking them...not like me to get hangovers-not feeling the best this morning.

Poor Mel!!! He had to go to work this morning and we 'made' him stay late!

Quite a scenic taxi ride home...was worth it spending an extra hour or so with everyone especially Cecil...it's a treat to hear him speak passionately about music.

My brother in law showed up late in the proceedings...he enjoyed one of the previous Grove drinky nights in the Nep and said last night was cool too-he needs a push to get to the re-union at Christmas. Keeps saying 'ah-I'll make the next one' every time. After a couple of pints last night he said 'right-I'm going' so we have to hold him to that. (June-maybe you could persuade him...)

Good to meet you Brian-fair play to you for making it...hope you got back OK-quite a long trip.

See you all at the Button Factory!

Floyd and Mel...thanks for being persuaded to miss the last train and for sharing a taxi with me. Mel - I hope you didn't have to work too hard today.

Martin, I'll certainly work on Stuart...it's his birthday on the 27th so that's a good a reason as any for him to have a night out.
