Hey - does anyone remember laughter?

Did anyone manage to get tickets for the Led Zep reunion in the Dome on Dec 10th? I just got an email to say I won the 2nd round of the lottery and have just bought 2 standing room only tickets!!! rock 'n roll, baby!

Would be great to meet-up!

Now there's an idea

Cecil should be the MC for the concert as God knows how many Zeppelin albums were bought in Dublin as a result of hearing them in The Grove.

just saw this on another site,

LED ZEP WILL PLAY MORE DATES

Apart from their reunion concert on December 10 in London, Led Zeppelin are scheduling more dates next year. The news was revealed when Ian Astbury, lead singer of The Cult, said during a gig in Cincinnati on November 17. According to a Billboard report, Astbury said: "We'll be back next year, because we're opening for a band you may have heard of. The name starts with an 'L' and has a 'Z' in it." Hearing the announcement, a fan in the audience shouted, "Led Zeppelin." Astbury nodded an affirmative response, and raised an arm into the air.

Meanwhile, Led Zep guitarist Jimmy Page said that the band will perform a track they have never played live before at their forthcoming O2 Arena show. Page told Reuters: "There's one number that we rehearsed, I assume that it will make it to the Dome, that we never played at any point in time," he explained. "It dates from when the band was together between 1968 and 1980. It's a really intense number."

Yiz are not going to belive this...

I was in London the past couple of days for work. Took the opportunity to do some shopping for the Christmas. Got a taxi to Selfridges, stepped out, walked to the door and straight into... Robert Plant. I was speechless... still can't belive it... clearly a sign...

Been a long time, been a long time, been a long (not so) lonely, lonely, lonely time...

Talking about Led Zeps concert on Gerry Ryan ....... a lot of people were disappointed with "Stairway to Heaven" but said over all the show was fab. Said "Kashmir" and "Whole Lotta Love" was the best. Anyone know did they video the show to be released on DVD for all us poor souls who never made it.

OK - where to start?

Just made it back home and still shell-shocked... unbeliveable.

Far better than any expectations... from the opening bars the energy, goodwill and bonhomie was awe inspiring. The first couple of songs the lads got into their stride - and then Black Dog...!

The next move was one of the most audacious I have ever seen - 3 songs into the set the dirty, swampy, distorted slide-guitar of "In my time of dying..." - time stood still, the hair on my neck stood up and I was well and truly blown-away. This song is deep, deep, deep. The interplay between the vocals and guitar is so real - and the song is looong. Who couls ever imagine that after 28 years, any band would attempt this? I was gone, gone, gone. Robert's voice...

Stairway was a dissapointment - the dissapointment being that they even bothered - the song is done to death, has no coruses, call or answer, verses - just a slow build and predicatable end. If it is played "note perfect" then, yeah, fine, brings back the old days - but LED ZEP were jamming, spontaineous, down and blues dirty. This is when the "fans" got out their lighters etc. - crap - can't blame Robert for not liking it. Noone I spoke too cared for it - would have been perfectly happy to have not heard it - ther rest of the set was a feast.

And then Kasmir - OMG - transendant. It and In my time..." were the moments for me - total in the moment fusion of sonic wave and single pointed mindlessness... Oh my G(g)od(s)...

Whole lotta was great - but Rock 'n Roll was awesome... I don't think the band even realised themselves... I guess it will sink in over the next few days...

Wow, cool.  If they came to Ireland where would be the best place to see them do you think?

Do you remember bands playing in the Nep?  The stage between the two toilets.  Now that would be cool too.

Yeah, just that I think these massive outdoor shows with 80 - 90,000 punters pitching up are really painful, regardless of who the headline act is.

Much prefer to see an indoor gig but if Zeppelin were to come here, there's not a chance that we'd get something like that.

Might have to travel abroad to catch such a show  .

There isn't really a good indoor venue that could take the crowd is there?  How about Belfast?  But if I was to travel I'd prefer to go somewhere for a bit of holiday too, Barcelona or Munich maybe.

Which would be the highlight?  Would Plant and Page come down the back and throw their coats on the floor and headbang in a circle?

Yeah, they were good nights.  I think Robbie63 (from here) used to play in a band that did gigs down there!?  Am I right, Robbie?
