Subject: Tickets Now On Sale
Date Posted: 03-May-2007 at 14:19
Tickets for the Grove Summer Reunion are now on sale at Austin's News-
stand, O'Connell St. City Discs in Temple Bar and online at www.tickets.ie.
Price €15
N.B. Grove Reunions have a tendency to sell out, so our advice is to get
tickets well in advance as once they are sold out that's it. No amount of "I
know Crusty", "I'm a friend of Cecil's", "I just flew in from Amsterdam for
the weekend and I didn't know it was happening" will get you in. There is
a limited capacity and once we've reached that, there's nothing Crusty,
Cecil or anyone can do. Anyway, it's not like there's any excuse nowadays
for people not to buy in advance. The last ticket for the Sunday night
Anniversary Reunion was bought at 2am that Sunday morning. One of the
punters who was at the Saturday Reunion enjoyed it so much that he
decided to buy a ticket for the Sunday while walking home, using the
internet on his mobile phone!!! Hats off to that that man!

I'm just feeling sorry for myself as I'd love to go to a reunion and the only time I'm gonna be in Ireland in the near future is next march/april. So if there was one happening then I might be able to make it otherwise I gotta make do with reading about them here.

Donal.......there is always a reunion on around Easter, and Easter is always in March/April, so try to find out when Easter is next year and see if it's around the same time as the wedding, and if not see if you can extend your holiday.............it would be so worth it, you won't be disappointed at a reunion

Don't forget if you but your tickets via www.tickets.ie, you can personalise your ticket.

That is you can add some text and it then prints on your ticket.

Great idea and a nice souvenier to have

Please take a note of all the names above - as you will see they are meeting the the bar beforehand, just write them down, dont trust memory - then on the nite call on each one for a drink on the house - I think this is called tradition.  Enjoy the site & the reunion.

Hi Gary,

Think that some T Shirts were given out to punters on the night the filming was done for the Documentary, that would have been the Reunion at Halloween,2005 ( I think ).

Not sure if they are for sale.

As for the name badges, ya can feck off. Don't worry , we'll find you .

Gary,

Judging from some of the photos which I think were you and Marty, I think you were having a pint in the shieling within about two yards of us before kickoff?

Or maybe I was old and drunk?

Cheers,

D.

It wouldn't be a reunion without Cecil, it would be a mere tribute. If The Beatles had a reunion I'd expect to see the Ringo, George, Paul and John (if two of them hadn't already passed away) otherwise it would be just a tribute band. We used to have Grove Tributes, before I managed to persuade Cecil to turn up, but as soon as he attended the nights, we renamed them Grove Reunions, for that very reason. Which I might ad, this Summer Reunion may be Cecil's last. He mentioned it at the last one, and then again in conversation last week. So just bear that in mind. It'll be a pity, but you gotta respect the man's decision.

Ah, it'd be a shame if Cecil stopped attending the 'reunions' but, like you say Crusty, it's his call.  Always nice to see him at them though!!

Gary,

Tell you pals when they arrive - into the bar on the right - order rounds and be sure to say they are friends of Floydmans........... in other words drinks on the house for the 1st half hour - please tell them to thank Martin.

...and the staff will go ...'Who? Never heard of him. You pulling a fast one? Call security!'

And with that security will come in the form of Rolo and calm everyone down.

Martin,

Had such a laugh - still laughing.

If above was tried the proposed reply would probably be "No problem - friend of Floydman - its all on the house - great PR for the Sheiling to which R would add "And so say all of us"...................................

I was buying my tickets in O'Connell Street yesterday and met Cecil.

We had a good oul' chat about life in general. He confirmed that this will be his last one. He says he has to stop sometime and it might as well be on a high. The Grove won't be the same without him.

Maybe he'll come along as a guest.

Is that the price of a Pint these days!!!!!!!!

Nearer to €5 if you're in town after 11:00 or 12:00 some places.

O'Sheas still do a happy hour thing from 4:00 til about 6:00 or 7:00 (why they call it a happy 'hour' I don't know) where it's €3:60.

Avail of it sometimes if I finish early on a Friday. The Great Escape are there on Sunday (tomorrow) night! Perfect night for a NCD + B night out! They are back again I think next month so how's about we get a night in between the re-union and the picnic? Or even this month if they are playing again?

Martin, tomorrow night maybe not (we cant sort a sitter) but me and Siobhan would definitely be on for the next night they are there.  Used to see The Great Escape in Keelings in Donabate when Siobhan had an apartment there and they are the biz!!  Please give us a shout, when you know when they're on...

Will do my man...last time we saw them in O'Shea's they played (amongst others) Sweet Home Alabama,Another brick in the Wall (c/w the helicopter intro),Dearg Doom (which I nearly got kicked out for because I was jumping around so much),Rainbow (can't remember which one),bizzarrely did a couple from the 90's including Robbie Williams but then got right back into it with some Zep and Purple. Absolutely fab.

We should organise this...

End of June if they are playing?

(Sorry-don't mean that as offensive to Esthalon...)
