Just as an FYI, there will be some essential database maintenance taking place tonight due to a faulty disk.
It is envisaged that this will be between 22:00 and 23:59.
I'll do my best to keep the site up and running during this period.

Forget about it.

Not important anyway.

This morning I got a sense of what the end of the world will be like LOL.

Couldn't get access to this site on both laptop and smartphone.

Kept getting a dialogue box asking for username and password and even when I did enter the required data the same dialogue box kept appearing.

So in my panic I posted on the Grove FB page and sure enough the ever vigilant Killian and our stateside stalwart Teresa came up with solutions.

Panic over, I can return the Blood Pressue monitor to my doctor and post away Clap

BP

p.s that's BP as in Biler Pat not Blood Pressure although you could link the two this morning Smile

Cheers Peter (I think you're Peter), I appreciate one has to be really careful about letting people "in" to fora on the Internet - I've seen, on another site I lurk on, what can happen if certain clowns are allowed in. I do appreciate being part of that group. I have certain views about Facebook which mean I'm rarely on there, but it's nice to have another "Grove" outlet. By the way, I suspect the next radio show is on Friday, might try tune in (?), I saw a setlist somewhere that was looking tasty ...

And thanks again for contacting me separately on here, it is genuinely appreciated.

Killian.

Please explain.

I got photos on my smartphone.

For example yesterday with Cecil.

So I upload them from my phone to laptop in a folder.

So I come on here click on the little green tree and follow the usual process.

But nothing happens.

Why?

Please advise.

Pat

I'll check when on my laptop tomorrow Pat but a quick test on my phone now and it worked fine for me.
Did it give you any message or warning?

Tried that again.

So I open the Grove website on my laptop.

Go to Interesting Pics.

Click on green tree. Click browse. Select photo from my photo folder on the laptop.

Click upload.

Getting message "please be patient while the image is being uploaded to the server".

Nothing happens for ages.

Then eventually the photo uploads but it's too big 😉😉

Not sure why 🤔🤔🤔

Pat, what browser are you using?
I've tried a in a number of ways and it works fine.
What size (filesize) are the photos? The limit is 3Mb (which should be enough unless your photos are massive)

oh, and here's a lovely Morris traveller...

Hi Killian

Using Firefox.

The photos I took on my smartphone are 3.99mb when I upload them to my laptop.

That may be the problem.

It's posting now but a bit longer than normal. See below.

My picture size in my camera is set to 4:3 (13M) whatever that means.

Could that be the reason why my photo uploads here are so large?

Any suggestions?

The picture size (3.99MB in your example) is most likely why it didn't load for you. However, you should have been shown a notification dialog like the one in the image below...

No warning message like that Killian.

Just a pop up box saying to be patient whilst uploading the photo.

As you can see I'm able to post a photo but it comes out very large.

If that's not a problem then thats ok for me.

I don't post too many photos anyway.

Pat
