The "Baby Shark" song is massive here.
Now I see it's entered the Billboard Top 100 at 32. The song is Korean. Word of warning for the future. Koreans, Chinese, Japanese are loaded and buying property left right and centre here in Philippines and South East Asia in general. Beware the crouching tiger indeed. There's a Korean quarter here in Angeles City. Not been there yet but I hear if you do go you won't be served in a Korean bar. So that's off my list 😂😂😂 |

Interesting about the other countries you mention/growing wealth. Certainly China is developing a large middle-class, upper-class, and ultra-rich sectors of society that hadn't existed prior to recent years. Seemingly the largest-growing group of tourists in the world is Chinese - now that "ordinary" people there have some money they want to travel. European countries, including Ireland, are starting to make major investments in preparing for and developing facilities for Chinese tourists, ie some road signage in Mandarin, menus in Mandarin as well as other languages in hotels etc. A good friend of mine, now living in England, is a Chinese guy, data analysts currently working for Bet365, the largest online gambling outfit in the world. Some years ago, when Ireland was deep in recession sh*t, he suggested to me (I was still in civil service) that Ireland should offer the country to the Chinese to own, who would then sort out the financials and everything for the country! He was kinda joking - but only kinda!

Seriously, money from above mentioned countries is pouring into South East Asia. Whilst Europe f**ks around with Brexit etc the Asians are gobbling up the property and global markets. The swing financially is to the East not the West. Edited by Biker Pat - 15-January-2019 at 15:24 |

You said it Pat - the big emerging economies sometimes known as the BRIC nations - Brazil, Russia, India, China. Not too sure how Brazil and Russia are doing currently, but China flying, and watch out for India coming up the outside ...

Just seen on the news here that the Philippines will have to import massive amounts of rice to lower price inflation.
They are also planning to import large amounts of mackeral scad, the poor peoples fish, also to reduce price inflation Both rice and fish have become seriously expensive for the ordinary people here. Surprising re the fish as there are over 7000 islands in the Philippines but I suppose one must take into account the number of devastating typhoons they experience each year. |

The Nile river outflows into the Mediterranean Sea.
Never realised that. The Amazon outflows into the Atlantic ocean. Nor that. The Mississippi outflows into the Gulf of Mexico. And when I flush my jacks here I haven't a clue where it outflows to 🤣😂😂 |
