Europe is the only one of the five continents that doesn't have a desert.
May be going to hell in a bucket but at least I'm enjoying the ride.

"Frampton Comes Alive" was the biggest selling album in 1976. Sold 8 million copies in USA alone and over 11 million copies worldwide.

One of the highest selling "live" albums in history.

I see the rift between Lindsey Buckingham and Fleetwood Mac has deepened.

Buckingham was sacked by the band and he has filed a lawsuit for loss of potential earnings.

Apparently each member of the band will earn $12-14 million from their current tour.

Buckingham apparently wanted to do some solo concerts between the bands tour but the other band members were against this and so sacked him.

Shame really. He's been with them since 1974 and for me he makes the band tick with his vocals and especially his awesome guitar playing.
May be going to hell in a bucket but at least I'm enjoying the ride.

Very true Pat, they will be diminished without him. Also seems to be needle between him and Stevie nicks that fed into the whole thing ... Shame really.

Just read something hilarious there, but I really don't know if it's true or not - but I'd love to think it was: Pablo Escobar (major drug baron etc etc) hid out for a period in the 80s I think, by pretending he was the frontman from Toto; and if you dig out pictures of both you can see the resemblance! Just brilliant, but dont know, as I said, if it's actually true

I see Michael Lang, one of the original Woodstock organisers from 1969 is planning a 50th anniversary of the festival next August at the original location of Bethel, New York.

Be interesting to see how many of the original artists perform and who else will be added to the line up.

That's flippin' deadly - it really is when you think about the fact that it's still going after all these years.

Yes indeed. Might consiĆ°er going, although I'd say the usual extortionate prices for tickets, esp as the venue not huge - to say the least! We'll see ...

Just reading about Max Yasgur, the farmer who leased his fields for the Woodstock festival in 1969.

When the massive influx of music fans invaded the little town of Bethel, Max rallied his fellow citizens to do all possible to look after the people who gathered in their town by providing food, clothing and other essentials.

The true spirit of the hippy movement.

Alas I read that Max was later ostracised by some of his community and died in 1973 in Florida, just four years after Woodstock.

Never forgotten Max. Without you we would not have had the greatest musical festival in rock 'n roll history.

Sad to read the passing of Pegi Young, Neil Youngs ex wife.

She died from cancer.

I remember I was shocked when I read a few years ago that they were divorcing after being together since the mid 70's and had been involved musically together over the tears.

Neil had written some songs in honour of her especially the beautiful Unknown Legend on Harvest Moon.

RIP Pegi šŸ˜„
