There is no evidence to support the folk etymology that POSH is formed from the initials of port out starboard home (referring to the practice of using the more comfortable accommodationsout of the heat of the sun, on ships between England and India).

"Lenny" was the name that Stevie Ray Vaughan gave to his guitar.

"Lucille" was BB King's guitar name.

Albert Einstein was so dumb that he tried to minimize a 12 variable function to a minimal sum of products expression using a Karnaugh map instead of the Quine-McCluskey algorithm.

Snooker apparently originated in India.

In the 19th century British Armed Forces stationed there invented the game.

Just saw this today, you might have it already Pat : every person has between 50,000 and 70,000 thoughts, PER DAY !

Don't know how they figure that out mind you, must have a think about it!

I do know a couple of people around my age, all of whose opinions, on every subject, were fully formed by about 1975! They can't still have 50,000 thoughts a day, can they? Hmmmmm🤔🤔🤔

RR..just wondering where you got the  "One of his legs is both the same"?

The reason I ask is that I was originally told the "What's the difference between a duck?" joke about 35 years ago by my cousin. You would have had to be a Dub or at least Irish to get it because the answer originally was – "One of his legs is the same nor the other". Not claiming the joke or punchline as my own (or my cousin's) but I started posting the "One of his legs is both the same" answer around the internet (for an American audience )and am surprised it ever caught on (again - not claiming it as my own, but interesting nonetheless...unless it's a "great minds think alike" thing).

It was partnered with with another joke: "How high can you fly a kite?"
Ans: "The higher the much"

Which also came from the Dub slang of the time "How are ye doing?"..._ "Ahh - The more the much"
"Hows your Granny feeling" ..."She's feeling more the much"

"He's a snappy dresser" --  "Yeh, he thinks he's the Much" etc.

"The Much" Probably before your time being a the young whippersnapper you are and could never be attempted on a foreign audience.
