Bob Geldof has announced that the Boomtown Rats are set to release their first album of new material for 30 years.

The veteran rocker revealed that the band has reformed and has already recorded 26 new tracks for forthcoming album, titled Mega.

This will be the first time that the band have recorded and released new music since their first studio album, In the Long Grass, in 1984.

“We’ve done 26 tracks. We’re mixing them now, I’ve done the vocals on them. We’re getting really excited, we think they’re great,” he told The Mirror.

“We did a lot of songs. We have a situation now where a song comes out and a day later it’s dead.”

May be going to hell in a bucket but at least I'm enjoying the ride.

"Coming Up" by Paul Mc Cartney

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDBkySeyiDo

True or false, I was told that when John Lennon heard this song he couldn't get it out of his head and it had a major influence on him going back to recording music again.

May be going to hell in a bucket but at least I'm enjoying the ride.

Could be some truth in that allright....John congratulating Paul on "Coming Up"... with a few funny comments on Yoko thrown in.

ABBA are back recording and have a new song coming out later in the year.

Perhaps an album and a tour.

Alan Longmuir, bass player with Bay City Rollers has passed away.

I think I mentioned this before but the BCR had a major influence on the Ramones because the BCR created their own image brand and so did the Ramones.

Allegedly it takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile.

There goes my Nivea for men out the window.

Gonna look like a manic depressive motherf**ker from now on as I thought smiling exercised more muscles in your face and kept you younger.

Anyway I get everything from Goya.............I'll stick with her LOL

Now I learn that potatoes originated in Peru and parts of Bolivia.

I thought they were exclusive to Ireland.

How in the name of jaysus did they get from Peru to Ireland and become part of our staple diet.

Seems it was Walter Raleigh who imported them to Cork.

That must have been some bicycle ride from Peru to Cork LOL

Cher's real name is Cherilyn Sarkisian and Sonny was Sonny BONO.

No connection to Bono in U2.

Apparently "bonavox" is a Latin phrase for "good voice".

So Bono's mate Gavin Friday nicknamed him "Bono Vox" and later as we all know became just "Bono".

Sadly the other Bono passed away in 1998 having spent time as a Republican congressman in Palm Springs, California from 1995 to 1998.

I guess his motto changed from "I Got You Babe" to "I Fooled Youse Babe" LOL

Just looking at the one there about insects Pat, I would be aware of that fact. There are a lot of "urban myths" around about insects as well though. My brother used to believe, as Gospel, that every night "at least 4 spiders" crawl into your ear I think he still half believes it, and him in his 60s!

It's definitely not true, I know that for a fact. I shook my head vigorously after I got up this morning, and only three fell out

Am no trivia expert.

I read a lot and keep up to date with world affairs and do quizzes on my phone and watch some quiz progtamnes on tv from time to time.

So if I pick up a bit of trivia that might be interesting I post it up here.

Never did a pub quiz in my life.

Unfortunately info goes in one ear and out the other😀😀😀
