    Posted: 10-November-2008 at 16:36

I just thought of a question which might pave the way to a potential New Forum Topic - How many Grove Social Club Cards were issued to numbered cardholders? Is there a Grove members archive? How many Groves were held 1967 - 1997; how often - if ever - was Cecil absent??

Get the gist?

i.e. a form of questions & answers, so to say

THE GROVE SOCIAL CLUB - Facts & Figures Quiz

Here's the first question for all you Grove experts out there in 'Groveland' :

Q. How many Grove Social Club Cards were issued to individually numbered cardholders? When was card Nr. 1 isssued and which card number was the very last?

A. ??

Next Question ...

Think they must have used the same numbers over and over Taylor.

I know Mrs DAYO is 1265 and I'm 1267 or 1270 I think, but wouldn't have been within eight years of her.

There was talk of a membership book somewhere. Remenber someone saying that they'd love to get their maulers on it for a look.

Cecil was talking about this very thing some time ago.

I sems that the secretary was a Mr Tighe and he was going to see if the family have the books still.

I thought mine was 1482 but I,m really not sure. That was in 1968/69

I was talking to Cecil about this very thing some time ago taylor.

He is going to approach the Tighe family to see if we can get the old membership books.

It would be interesting to have these and have them scanned .

Bet they could tell a lot

Mine is here. No 2701 and that was 1972.

I'd love to see the membership books and where I signed in first.

Telephone number 331396 on card. Eircom response when you ring. The message has a guy obviously in an emotional state as he knew this was The Grove's original number.

Thanks guys - it would be great to hear how Cecil gets on with the Tighe family!

If the membership books still exist they would be a really interesting and very valuable archive resource. They should be properly scanned and then handed over to the City of Dublin or to National Archives for safekeeping and for future access.

I'd love to see the membership records....wonder would our signatures be on the books too and actual dates of joining the Grove?
