I'm just reading here a review of the latest book ("City of Girls") by Elizabeth Gilbert (author of, inter Alia, "Eat, Pray, Love). A couple of quotes that are taken from the book are really very descriptive, and would apply (or have applied when we were younger) to us on here I suspect:
"...spun through New York City that summer on currents of pure electricity. Instead of walking, we rocketed. There was no focus; there was just a constant search for the vivid". "...at some point in...a life...just gets tired of being ashamed all the time." I think they are remarkable words, and can be framed for different periods in our lives. Anyway, for what it's worth ... I suspect I'll be buying that book

Not a quote as such, but as our Ma's gettin mentioned:
You know the other old trick our Ma's used (well mine anyway, the odd time! ) When someone knocked at the door you stuck on your coat before answering. If it's someone you don't want to see (usually the insurance man on a bad week lol), you say, "sorry I'm just going out now" If it's someone you don't mind, you can say "oh, I've just come in". !
