Lol - I like that last one Pogue ... Not a saying exactly, but mate of mine, a fireman, had a guy worked with him; every time the guy come into work after a night out he'd say he got off with some wan and "...I tore the side off her ..." . I mean, the meaning was clear enough, but the thing about "tore the side off her. " ... they could never figure what exactly that was meant to convey (apart from the obvious that is)???

I always think "onwards and upwards" is a bit optimistic, and probably involves a lot of hard work! At my age I think "onwards and sideways" is much more achievable...
