Interesting quotes

I'm just reading here a review of the latest book ("City of Girls") by Elizabeth Gilbert (author of, inter Alia, "Eat, Pray, Love). A couple of quotes that are taken from the book are really very descriptive, and would apply (or have applied when we were younger) to us on here I suspect:

"...spun through New York City that summer on currents of pure electricity. Instead of walking, we rocketed. There was no focus; there was just a constant search for the vivid".

"...at some point in...a life...just gets tired of being ashamed all the time."

I think they are remarkable words, and can be framed for different periods in our lives. Anyway, for what it's worth ... I suspect I'll be buying that book

The above and the quote in previous post are from an article in the IT magazine today by Donald Clarke - their film critic for a good long while but seems to be moving into writing other pieces (kinda op eds) for the paper. An acerbic, amusing writer with pretty strong opinions and well able to (humourously) justify them ... Like you Poguey !!!
