Just read a quote from Hunter S. Thompson (American journalist and all-round gonzoid). I may have come across it before but had forgotten about it. It's about the music industry. I find it hard to disagree with:
"The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side." Hilarious and well-observed, in my opinion !!! |

Absolutely Pat. I was always struck by a quote I heard from a famous philosopher - might have been Nietzsche : "Most men live their lives in quiet desperation".
I read that many years ago, thought it was a very sad, if true, statement. I always determined I would not be that man (and so I live my life in noisy desperation lol)

Not a quote exactly, but a very descriptive sentence from a book I'm reading (one of the Jack Reacher series - but short stories), about a band playing in a bar. I think it's brilliant:
" The band looked like it had been put together by accident after a misfiling incident at a talent agency." I think that's magic - highly descriptive, humorous, you can see it in your minds eye, a crowd of completely mismatched people. Super stuff ... |
