I'm listen to a healthy mix of new and old at the moment.

New stuff:

Tilly & the Wall
Broken Social Scene
The Chalets
Arcade Fire
Spinto Band
David Kitt

Old stuff
Gang of Four
Sparks
CCR
Joy Division
Ann Peebles
Gil Scott Heron
Johnny Cash
The Doors

Before you ask, I am compensating for missing Electric Picnic.
The only way you'd get me to go to school on Saturdays.

Good to see CCR in there

Yeah Pat, my Mrs. got me really into them.

She from the US and there's something about cruising around in one of the Envrionment Killer pick-ups blaring the Creedance that's good for the soul.  From then on I was an avid devotee of the gospel according to Fogerty.

I'd imagine it is much like you when you described seeing Easy Rider for the first time in the documentary.

That's a great CD.

Except for Black Betty.

I'm probably risking the wrath of many Grovers but I never liked that song. In fact I hate it

Oh Pat, can't believe you don't like Black Betty! When I was going to THe Grove that was the main anthem, the one that everyone wherever they were in the place and whatever they were doing got up and went crazy too  Rock N'Roll though will always be my number one Grove song and always makes me feel alive and myself again! Hope you are well. I pm you in a minute.

Finno,

Where did ya get that CD from?? Is it still on sale out there?  Not big into CDs myself but I'd make an exception for that one.

Pat, have to agree with Star, cant believe ya dont like "black betty".  S'pose each to his own, but thats one song I've always enjoyed at the Grove.

T'was a Grove song alright Lorri.  I like that one as well - eeek!

Fond memories of that song and, indeed, some of Foreigner's songs.  Admittedly they arent my favourite artists/bands but play them now and then.  Strangely enough, cant seem to get enough of "Best of Foreigner" lately, dont really know why..

Sorry guys, can't hack that Black Betty song. Rock 'n Roll by Led Zeppelin. YES

Thanks Lorri re James Blunt........."High" just hit a chord with me.

Over the years, and they're many at this stage, a song just catches you regardless of who sings it or whether its a hit or not.

I have many singles that I bought on the hearing of a song that never charted and was never heard of again.

I LISTEN to music and am not interested in videos and hype re this and that. If I hear a song I like I'll take to it and don't care what anyone thinks

Each to his own and always enjoy your music.

As the Doobie Brothers sang "Music is the Doctor"
