Great choice of music S1- Kirsty's version of "Days" is not played a lot on this side of the pond. The Kinks version of that song and Bobby's "Twist of Fate" bring back memories of long ago.
Nice way to start a Sunday...like eggs and rashers. ....Hmmm - eggs and rashers, where's me wife?

Cheers Poguey. To be fair, I don't think Kirsty has the range to sing Days - or she starts it in the wrong key - listen to the way she sings the end of it. Now as you know I love Kirsty and her ways and pomps - listen to A New England and shiver with delight - but Days ...not really. Other stuff, yeah.
Enjoy the eggs and rashers ... You're on the washing-up ... |

Re Kirsty's range: Yeh- I might have mentioned that based on her "Fairytale of NY" performance I bought Titanic Days and possibly listened to it once, I can't remember? --but I liked her version of "Days" even better than the original Davies version...coming from a non Kinks fan that hated LOLA and Waterloo Sunset and most of their other stuff.
I have a whole list of women with a restricted voice range that I love: Nico, Marianne Faithful for instance, sometimes good looks and a nice body is enough oink Edited by Pogue Mahoney - 28-June-2020 at 19:44 |
