Hope to tune in but we'll be on our travels next Friday or Saturday in this part of the world.
May be going to hell in a bucket but at least I'm enjoying the ride.

Hi All, if of interest I am covering the opening slot on Near FM from 11 am to 1pm on New Years Day. Not a grove show but I will be taking a look at key music influences growing up - hearing music influences from older siblings, watching TV such as Top of the Pops, MT USA, Live Aid, the first singles and albums I bought. The albums that got me through the inter and leaving cert, the influence of the Grove, the first gigs I went to. The soundtrack to marriage and becoming a Dad and then losing my own father. Learning to play piano, singing and guitar lessons. The opportunity to reconnect with the Grove via reunions, a documentary and The Grove Radio Show...

Won't make this show.

It'll be Saturday here in Bangkok and that day we'll be heading back home to the Philippines.
May be going to hell in a bucket but at least I'm enjoying the ride.

"Dolly Mixtures".

This sounds interesting and from the captions on Facebook the opening four artists certainly pique my interest.

When young Daly's setlists hit the airwaves it a must listen.

Alarms will be set and cock a doodles and dawn choruses will ensure I'm awake Saturday morning at 5am.
May be going to hell in a bucket but at least I'm enjoying the ride.

Ah thanks very much Pat, you are way too generous in your comments, but very much appreciated...
It's just a shame you have to get up in the middle of the night to tune in!

I sent that playlist to the crew in early-Octobet last, at that stage it seemed to have all kinds of different stuff in it - maybe too much really. So I was sl*gging it, saying it was like a bag of dolly mixtures - I didn't think they'd use that as a title !!! LOLLOL

Gerry,

All good things are worth waiting for.

No problem with the 5am wake up. It's bright then. Show time at 5.30am. So 30 minutes to get the kettle on, make a cuppa, wash the sleep from the eyes, open the curtains and front door and welcome another day. 🙏🙏

May be going to hell in a bucket but at least I'm enjoying the ride.
