Not sure if this duplicates Lenny's useful links thread.

When I was in a previous organisation there used to be what people called a network of “Bruds”. Bruds meaning brothers.

The purpose of this network was to share information or have a network of people who would know somebody that might be able to help or give information on certain situations.

I was wondering if the Grove forum members would be interested in setting up a network of contacts that each of us could share.

A Grove Useful Contacts network.

I'll start by giving some contacts that have been useful to me.

Royal Windows, Swords. Tel Garth on 0877912831 or 8404481. Did a great job on my windows last year.

Philip McGee, EBS Drumcondra. Tel 8372831. Anybody needing financial advice, mortages etc.

Joyce's Waterloo House B&B, Clifden, Co Galway. Tel PK or Patricia at 09521688. Great friendly place to stay and real nice hosts.

Black Boy Inn, Caernarfon, Wales. Tel 00441286673604 and ask for Emyrs. Great old style Welsh inn situated inside the main walls of Caernarfon Castle.

The Tavern, Murrisk, Co Mayo. Tel 09864060 and ask for Ruth or Myles O'Brien.

Kieran's “Folkhouse” Inn, Kinsale, Co Cork. Tel 0214772382. Good friendly place with Irish music most night in the bar downstairs.

Hydro Hotel, Lisdoonvarna, Co Clare. Tel 0657074005. Part of the White Hotel Group. Great spot with lovely rooms and friendly staff.

Marchmount B&B, Lisdoonvarna, Co Clare. Tel 0657074050 and ask for Eileen.

Roadside Tavern, Lisdoonvarna, Co Clare. If you're ever there call in to this old Irish pub and ask for Bill and make sure you try the stew or the cold fish platter.

Kennedy's Motorcycles, Drogheda, Co Louth. Tel 0419838117. Ask for Jimmy or our own Lenny. Best place for motorbike service and parts etc.

Deirdre Holly, Chiropodist, Seabury, Malahide. Tel 8454847.

Ursula O'Regan, Reflexogoly, Clontarf. Tel 8332513.

Boyneside PVC. Call Val Ward on 0863488957 or 0419827063. He did a great job on my gutters, fascia boards and drain pipes.

Maplin Electronics, Blanchardstown SC. Tel 8215810. Great place for drive belts, stylus or any electrical gadget.

anyone know anything about house insulation?
Our 'new' house has an kitchen extension built 20+ years ago and is freezing this time of year.
Heard there's some insulation you can get pumped into the walls?

Reading my mind there mate.

we have a house that has been extended a couple of times and most of it is freezing. I don't mind it, but herself is a cold blooded creature (temperature wise only of course) and the gas bill for the last month has just come through. We'd knock the house and rebuild from a few more months of that expense.

I'm searching for that cash I should have saved for the crash

We have just moved into our house which is about 20 years old also has a kitchen extension which is freezing. We got a builder into have a look and he frist advise to knock the whole lot down and rebuild which we are not going to do.The other thing is to put a new roof on as the roof which is there has no insulation that is why it is freezing and just insulation the walls
