Right lads,as you are no doubt aware there have been more and more of these " Born 1910 " Viagra sellers, Porn Peddlers and the like registering as members in recent weeks.

Having performed some research into the matter it appears that the reason that they keep coming back ( even after we kill them off ) is because they are actually getting hits to their sites from here.

So...........in order to try ensure that we don't get any more signing up may I ask that no one, however tempted they may be, click on any of their links.

Is there an option where you can block someone from posting weblinks in their profiles. It means that anyone who has a link to a website it will be disabled. I have blocked this on another forum and haven't had any problems.

I am getting a lot of phishing emails mainly for viagra but also telling me I have won somthing I block them all but I have anything up to 40 at a time is there any other way of getting rid of them ?

anybody help !!!

Firstly, (as a disclaimer!) the emails are not coming from here and anyhow, you are advised to keep your email addy private which you can do in the Forum Preferences page of the user settings.

Secondly, spam will pretty much always be here. I use a program called mailwasher to filter my pop mail. It downloads the mail headers and gives me the opportunity to delete them before Outlook or whatever downloads them. There is free and a paid for version. My father is from Cavan which may be why I have the free edition!

Probably going to regret saying this but  I dont get any spam emails on my emails home or work and no I havent got a clue what stops them

Maryi when I tried to log on to it I was asked for my password. I thought I had to create one but it keeps telling me that it isn't the right one! Did you have the same problem?

Anyone have Skype!!! I keep getting these wirdo's trying to talk to me.  It's almost not work keeping it, its that annoying.

If you go into File-Privacy and then advance.. You can choose who you want to be able to talk toyou and who can send you messages.. That will sort out you Iranians wanting to talk to you

I have Skype and have no problems with it. It´s a godsend for us who live abroad. I am able to speak to family and friends in Ireland on a regular basis for a mere pittance. It´s definitely one of the greatest advantages of having the internet.

I constantly keep on getting spam e-mails on my personal e-mail account on my home laptop -  I keep on getting e-mails about viagra and penis enlargements!!!!! Flippin' unbelieveable! Gonna have to put some block into my e-mails as I spend more time deleting unwanted junk e-mails then I do reading genuine ones!

Trixie - if you are using a pop mail a/c rather than a webmail a/c then download mailwasher - it is brilliant as you can automatically create friends and black lists, etc.
