When I went to the Grove 1972-1975 the following were Status Quo songs that Cecil played.

Umleitung
Gerundula
Mean Girl
Paper Plane
Caroline
Down Down
Break The Rules
Rain

As well as that Cecil used to play the "hello" album before he'd kick off the singles.

Did he play Quo after 1975?

He certainly did though mainly

Mean Girl
Caroline
Down Down

Spider who featured in an interesting pic was a Quo fanatic

That's gas...I was watching Status Quo 'live in Montreux' (2009) on TV this morning!

Caroline and Down Down were definitely big faves in the Grove around '78 and onwards (my era).

Pat,

What I remember him playing by Quo.

Caroline, Rocking all over the World, Mystery Song, Paper Plane, Down Down, Whatever you want.

Always loved "Mystery Song" particularly.  Good shout Finno, re Mean Girl - had forgotten that one (another one I'll have to try and obtain for my collection).

PS. Pat - might I direct you to my collection of 'singles' from the Grove between 1980 to 1986 approx, in the 'Songs from the Grove' thread.  Thats the 7" records I own, based on my (and others) recollections of songs from that era of the Grove.

Quo were to me one of the greatest live bands of all time.

Here's an oldie live performance.

And the best version of "Road House Blues" was on Quo's album "Piledriver"

Cecil was only talking about this Quo song.

A favourite in '72.
