Right lads,as you are no doubt aware there have been more and more of these " Born 1910 " Viagra sellers, Porn Peddlers and the like registering as members in recent weeks. Having performed some research into the matter it appears that the reason that they keep coming back ( even after we kill them off ) is because they are actually getting hits to their sites from here. So...........in order to try ensure that we don't get any more signing up may I ask that no one, however tempted they may be, click on any of their links. Many Thanks. R. |

Is there an option where you can block someone from posting weblinks in their profiles. It means that anyone who has a link to a website it will be disabled. Teresa I am getting a lot of phishing emails mainly for viagra but also telling me I have won somthing I block them all but I have anything up to 40 at a time is there any other way of getting rid of them ? anybody help !!!

Firstly, (as a disclaimer!) the emails are not coming from here and anyhow, you are advised to keep your email addy private which you can do in the register.asp?FPN=3 - Forum Preferences page of the http://www.thegrovesocialclub.com/forum/member_control_panel.asp - user settings . Secondly, spam will pretty much always be here. I use a program called http://www.mailwasher.net/download/?q=download - mailwasher to filter my pop mail. It downloads the mail headers and gives me the opportunity to delete them before Outlook or whatever downloads them. There is free and a paid for version. My father is from Cavan which may be why I have the free edition! -------------

I have Skype and have no problems with it. Itīs a godsend for us who live abroad. I am able to speak to family and friends in Ireland on a regular basis for a mere pittance. Itīs definitely one of the greatest advantages of having the internet. ------------- Robbie

Trixie - if you are using a pop mail a/c rather than a webmail a/c then download mailwasher - it is brilliant as you can automatically create friends and black lists, etc.

Never used mail washer. I use Thunderbird instead of Outlook for my email and any dodgy ones that come in I highlight them and click on "Junk Mail" and anytime I get mail from that particular address never see it. I dont think the spam is necessarily channeled through our details on here to be honest. I've been getting all those dodgy spam mails for years, having registered with different sites.
